A luxury hotel in Cape Town is seeking a professional Waiter / Waitress to provide superior guest service and create memorable dining experiences. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in a fine dining or luxury environment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for hospitality. This role requires knowledge of food and wine, and involves a strong commitment to service excellence in a fast-paced environment.
The Waiter / Waitress at Pepperclub Hotel is professional, attentive, and friendly, with a solid knowledge of food, wine, and service standards. This role requires constant interaction with guests to ensure they have a memorable, personalised dining experience across our restaurants, bar, and events. Deliver superior, friendly, and personalised guest service at all times.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food, beverages, and menu offerings.
Greet guests, take accurate orders, and communicate details clearly to the kitchen and bar.
Assess guest preferences and make informed recommendations.
Confidently up-sell and suggest additional menu items to enhance guest experience.
Provide guidance to guests on hotel dining options, activities, and Cape Town attractions.
Prepare and maintain clean, well-set tables and service areas.
Ensure checks, payments, and billing are handled accurately.
Assist with stock control, requisitions, and inventory management as needed.
Maintain compliance with health, hygiene, and safety standards.
Participate in daily briefings to stay updated on menu changes, specials, and reservations.
Actively contribute to teamwork, a positive service culture, and smooth departmental operations.
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal); additional languages advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, guest-focused personality.
A passion for hospitality and serving people.
Minimum 2 years’ waitering or bartending experience in a luxury hotel, fine dining, or upmarket restaurant / bar environment.
Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and basic stock / inventory control.
Ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Professional appearance and grooming in line with hotel standards.
Flexible availability for shifts, weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
Reliable, diligent, and detail-oriented with proven commitment to service excellence.
Knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas is advantageous.
International or luxury property experience beneficial.
