SUMMARY :
Our client, based in the Kommetjie, Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Wage Clerk to join their team in a permanent capacity.
This is a key administrative role responsible for weekly wage payroll, basic front-office duties, and essential HR-related administration within a busy operational environment.
POSITION INFO :
Location: Kommetjie, Cape Town
Requirements :
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in wage payroll or payroll administration
- Previous SAGE Payroll experience (essential)
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience with time & attendance / clock-in systems (Jarrison advantageous)
- Strong numeracy and literacy skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A formal tertiary qualification will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities :
- Process weekly payroll for approximately 100 wage staff
- Manage weekly payroll for ±10 casual workers
- Maintain and update employee personnel files
- Ensure accurate upkeep of wage and payroll reporting files
- Submit monthly UIF declarations
- Track leave balances for wage staff
- Prepare daily attendance and absenteeism reports for management
- Compile year-end leave reports
- Reconcile monthly deductions such as savings and staff loans with Accounts
- Enrol new wage employees and ensure all documentation is complete
- Handle basic reception duties including telephone and message management
- Monitor stationery levels and place orders as needed
- Administer PPE stock, issuing, and corresponding record keeping
- Liaise with payroll, time & attendance, and HR when required
- Perform related payroll and administrative ad hoc duties as needed
