We are evolving into the all-in-one investment platform for emerging markets, combining cryptocurrency, tokenised equities, and payments in one intuitive, trusted app. We’re looking for a commercially minded, data‑driven marketing leader to guide this next phase of growth.
VP of Marketing – Responsibilities
- Oversee all marketing strategy, budgeting, and performance management across regions, with a strong focus on efficiency, measurement, and disciplined execution.
- Lead a cross‑functional marketing team and optimise its operations: tighten performance loops, refine spend allocation, and ensure every activity contributes meaningfully to business growth.
- Develop and execute Luno’s global marketing and growth strategy in line with company goals.
- Own the global brand for Luno and execute brand strategy at a local level.
- Ensure marketing investment is efficient, data‑driven, and tied to performance outcomes.
- Partner closely with Product, Country, Data, and Finance teams to align on growth priorities and commercial objectives.
- Maintain a clear and consistent rhythm of reporting, forecasting, and KPI tracking across all regions.
- Plan, allocate, and continuously monitor the global marketing budget, monitoring ROI and spend efficiency.
- Establish and manage KPI frameworks that connect marketing metrics (CAC, LTV, retention, ARPU, ROI) to company‑level results.
- Work with Data teams to strengthen attribution, forecasting accuracy, and marketing performance dashboards.
- Lead quarterly marketing reviews focused on efficiency, ROI, and continuous optimisation.
- Oversee acquisition, retention, and lifecycle performance across paid media, CRM, SEO, partnerships, and content.
- Champion a test‑and‑learn culture that prioritises measurable impact over activity volume.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve data visibility, and enhance decision speed.
- Maintain high‑quality standards for campaign execution, tracking, and reporting across regions.
- Lead and mentor a 27‑person marketing team across central and regional functions.
- Focus on operational clarity, accountability, and performance consistency rather than expansion.
- Foster a culture of commercial thinking, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate
- 10+ years’ experience in marketing, with a strong foundation in performance, growth, or commercial marketing.
- Proven ability to manage and optimise large budgets with clear ROI accountability.
- Experience building a brand and driving growth globally, rather than just a single market.
- Deep expertise in digital performance measurement, multi‑channel attribution, and financial reporting.
- Strong understanding of marketing analytics, data infrastructure, and automation platforms (e.g., Braze, Singular, MParticle, Amplitude, Looker, or similar).
- Highly analytical and detail‑oriented, comfortable operating at the intersection of marketing, finance, and data.
- Experience driving efficiency and performance improvement across multiple markets or business units.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, focused on enabling teams to perform at their best through clarity and process discipline.
