VP of Business Development, Africa - Blockchain Wallet Infrastructure

Responsibilities
- Own the go-to-market strategy in Africa, driving revenue, building strategic partnerships, and guiding clients through deployment of our cutting-edge wallet platform inside their existing systems.
- Drive the African business development strategy in collaboration with the Head of EMEA, acting as the company's senior representative and local director in key markets.
- Set and consistently hit ambitious sales targets, grow revenue, and deliver Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR).
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with banks, large enterprises, and regulatory bodies across the region.
- Source, qualify, and close high-value opportunities, leading RFPs, RFIs, and complex enterprise negotiations.
- Track market trends, monitor competitors, and provide essential feedback to refine playbooks, targeting, and sales pitches.
- Support post-sale success, including planning, compliance readiness, account expansion, and working closely with Product and Engineering to ensure successful platform deployment.
- Represent the company at key industry events, conferences, and workshops, traveling across Africa as needed to meet clients and prospects.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in business development and enterprise sales, with proven leadership experience.
- Proven track record of driving ARR growth and successfully closing large-scale, complex deals in the financial technology sector.
- Deep understanding of African financial markets and regulatory environments (required).
- Experience selling blockchain services, digital assets, or related financial technologies is a strong plus.
- Strong business acumen, able to credibly link technical platform capabilities to clear business value for executive decision-makers.
- Skilled communicator, able to break down complex concepts for both senior executives and technical engineering teams. Fluent in English; French is a strong plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, high resilience, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and thrives in fast-paced, resource-constrained environments.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, sales automation platforms, and modern sales tools.
