Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a Viticulture Specialist for a hybrid role focused on remote consultancy and on-site vineyard assessments in and around Stellenbosch, Western Cape. You will apply deep knowledge of grape cultivation, soil science, and enology to improve grape quality and optimize vineyard health for premium wine production.

Qualifications
- Advanced degree in viticulture or related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in viticulture and vineyard management
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a hybrid schedule
Responsibilities
- Provide expert advice on vineyard establishment and management.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimal vineyard nutrition, irrigation, and pest/disease control.
- Conduct detailed vineyard assessments, analyzing soil, climate, and vine health data.
- Advise on canopy management techniques to improve grape quality and yield.
- Monitor vine growth cycles and predict harvest timing.
- Consult on sustainable and organic viticultural practices.
- Analyze wine quality data and correlate it with vineyard practices.
- Assist clients with vineyard planning, trellis design, and equipment selection.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and advancements in viticulture and enology.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for clients.
