Placements24 seeks a Merchandising Assistant to support retail operations in Soweto, Gauteng. The role focuses on implementing merchandising plans, ensuring optimal product displays, and supporting the sales team to achieve retail goals.

The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for visual merchandising, basic retail experience, and strong organizational and communication skills to work with store teams and the merchandising manager.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in business or marketing is a plus.
• Previous experience in retail, merchandising, or stock management.
• Basic understanding of visual merchandising principles.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and travel to various retail locations in Soweto.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing store merchandising plans and planograms.
• Ensure products are stocked, organized, and displayed according to company standards.
• Monitor stock levels on shelves and communicate replenishment needs to store management.
• Support the execution of in-store promotions, displays, and point-of-sale materials.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess product placement and brand representation.
• Report on merchandising effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
