Placements24 seeks a Viticulturist to join a renowned wine estate in Midrand, Gauteng. You will manage vineyard operations from propagation to harvest, focusing on premium grape quality through canopy and irrigation planning, pest control, and careful record-keeping.

We require a minimum of 5 years in vineyard management and a degree in Viticulture, Horticulture, or Agronomy, with strong leadership and data-logging proficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of vineyard management experience.
• Degree in Viticulture, Horticulture, Agronomy or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency with vineyard management software and data logging.

Responsabilités

• Oversee all vineyard operations including planting, pruning, trellising, canopy management and irrigation.
• Develop vineyard management plans to optimize grape quality and yield.
• Monitor vine health and soil conditions; implement pest/disease/weed control using sustainable practices.
• Manage irrigation systems for optimal water use and vine health.
• Plan and supervise harvest activities, ensuring careful handling of grapes.
• Maintain detailed records of vineyard activities and weather data.
