Qualifications

• Experience or formal training in viticulture, agriculture, or a related field.
• Strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to perform physical tasks outdoors.
• Basic knowledge of vineyard pests, diseases, and sustainable farming practices.
• Ability to operate basic farm machinery and willingness to learn new techniques.
• Good organizational skills and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• A passion for wine and a desire to contribute to premium wines in Paarl.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Vineyard Manager in daily vineyard operations, including pruning, training, and canopy management.
• Monitor vine health, identify pests and diseases, and implement integrated pest management strategies.
• Operate and maintain vineyard equipment, including tractors, sprayers, and harvesting machinery.
• Coordinate and supervise seasonal workers during peak periods, such as pruning and harvest.
• Maintain accurate records of vineyard activities, including fertilizer application, irrigation, and yield data.
• Participate in harvest activities, ensuring grapes are picked at optimal ripeness and quality.
