You will assist with viticulture tasks from planting to harvesting under the guidance of the vineyard manager, contributing to sustainable practices and high-quality grape production.

The role emphasizes outdoor work, teamwork, and a hands-on approach to learning various vineyard operations while enjoying a beautiful rural setting in the renowned Paarl wine region.

Qualifications

• Experience in viticulture or agriculture is desirable.
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
• Basic understanding of plant science and pest management principles.
• Ability to operate basic farm machinery and tools.
• Good communication and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with all vineyard tasks, including pruning, tying, canopy management, and irrigation.
• Participate in grape harvesting operations, ensuring quality and efficiency.
• Monitor vineyard health, identifying and reporting pests, diseases, and nutrient deficiencies.
• Operate and maintain vineyard machinery and equipment safely.
• Assist with record-keeping related to vineyard activities, treatments, and yields.
• Support the vineyard manager in implementing sustainable farming practices.
• Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the vineyard and related facilities.
