Placements24 is seeking a talented VFX Artist to join its creative team in Benoni. You will conceptualize and deliver stunning effects for games, using particle systems, shaders, and scripting to bring explosions, magic, and environmental visuals to life.

Collaborate with art directors, designers, and technical artists to ensure effects are performant and integrated into the game engine, while staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience as a VFX Artist in games or related fields.
• Proficiency with particle systems in Unity or Unreal Engine.
• Strong 2D/3D concepts for textures, sprites and meshes in VFX.
• Experience creating and optimizing shaders for real-time rendering.
• A portfolio showcasing visually compelling, technically sound VFX.
• Good communication and collaboration skills; receptive to feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement high-quality VFX for gameplay, cinematics, and UI.
• Use particle systems, shaders, and scripting for diverse effects.
• Collaborate with art directors and designers to define visual style and tech needs.
• Optimize VFX assets for real-time performance across platforms.
