Job Description

Wallace and Green is seeking a dynamic, self‑motivated Middle level Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to join their team in their Durban office. The consultant should demonstrate technical excellence and progressive environmental consulting experience.



  • Lead / prominent role in delivering Basic Assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Management Programs and Compliance Auditing projects.

  • Financial Management on projects.

  • Water Use License Applications.

  • Waste Management License Applications.

  • Mining Applications.

  • Feasibility / Screening Assessments.

  • Environmental Compliance Auditing and Legal Compliance.

  • Key client/account relationship management, participation in marketing and business development activities.

  • Compilation and review of tenders and quotations.


Qualifications/Experience Required


  • BSc Honours Degree in appropriate environmental field or equivalent (MSc advantageous).

  • Minimum four (4) years environmental consulting experience in Impact Assessment, Water Use Licenses, Compliance Monitoring, stakeholder engagement / public participation, EMPr drafting, Mining Applications and Project Management.

  • EAPASA and/or Pr.Sci.Nat Professional Registration.

  • Thorough knowledge of NEMA, the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process and legislative requirements.

  • Liaise appropriately with specialists as well as sub‑consultants, clients and authorities.

  • Must be able to meet deadlines, and be prepared to work extra time occasionally in order to do so.

  • Well organized – able to plan, prioritize, co‑ordinate and work well under pressure.

  • Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.

  • Code B Driver’s license, own transport and willingness to travel for site visits and client meetings.

  • Have the ability to source new work.


Salary Range

Market related based on experience and interview discussion.
