About the team
We are a multidisciplinary team of Product Designers and UX Writers, collaborating in cross‑functional squads to build products that empower millions to safely and confidently explore the world of cryptocurrency. Design has a proud legacy at Luno, and we’re excited to welcome a UX Writer who shares our passion for great design and is ready to make a meaningful impact.
The role in a nutshell
As a junior UX Writer on the Product Design team, your primary focus will be crafting product copy that helps customers complete tasks and reach their financial goals easily and confidently. You’ll work alongside experienced UX Writers and Product Designers to create clear, helpful, and human language that enhances usability and accessibility across our product.
Your mission will involve
- Writing clear, concise, and user‑focused interface copy for Luno’s web and mobile products — including screen flows, buttons, labels, empty states, and error messages.
- Collaborating with UX Writers, Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to shape the overall user experience through language.
- Contributing to the evolution of Luno’s content design system (Matter), with a focus on reusable content patterns and voice guidelines.
- Applying design thinking principles to writing: understanding the problem, testing solutions, and iterating based on feedback.
- Participating in user research, usability testing, and A/B experiments to inform and validate content decisions.
- Advocating for content clarity and consistency across the product.
- Learning how to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints through collaborative product work.
A little about you
- 2–3 years of professional writing experience, ideally including experience or strong interest in UX writing, content design, or writing for digital products.
- A portfolio (or samples) showcasing thoughtful interface copy, writing for product experiences, or related projects.
- A basic understanding of user‑centered design and how words contribute to intuitive, accessible user journeys.
- Familiarity with tools like Figma, Miro, and UserTesting, or a willingness to learn.
- A growth mindset: open to feedback, hungry to learn, and excited to contribute.
- An interest in fintech, crypto, or complex problem spaces, and a drive to make them more understandable for everyday users.
- Strong attention to detail and solid writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Familiarity with creating content for software interfaces, including web and mobile applications.
- A collaborative, curious mindset, eager to learn and understand the needs of users and stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively across product, engineering, and potentially marketing teams.
- A degree in a relevant field (writing, communication, design, etc.) or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience working on digital products or software interfaces is a plus.

In your first six months you will
- Onboard into your fleet and pod.
- Dive into the world of crypto and get up to speed with the industry.
- Participate in Design Team rituals and Pod ceremonies under the mentorship of our existing UX Writers.
- Explore and understand the relationship between fiat/old money and crypto.
- Understand how our current payment integrations work.
- Learn to navigate our remote but reachable work policy, giving you the freedom to choose between working from home or the office.
