Primary purpose
Responsible for designing user‑centric digital experiences that are intuitive, accessible, and visually engaging. This role involves conducting user research, creating wireframes and prototypes, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure design solutions meet both user needs and business goals. The UX Designer plays a key role in shaping product direction through evidence‑based design and continuous iteration.
User Research & Analysis
- Plan and conduct user research using methods such as interviews, surveys, contextual inquiries, and usability testing.
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to uncover user needs, pain points, and behavioural patterns.
- Develop user personas, scenarios, and journey maps to inform design decisions.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies
- Conduct research within regulated environments (e.g., financial, telco), ensuring user experience aligns with compliance and security standards.
- Map omni‑channel experiences across products, platforms, and partner ecosystems
Experience Design & Prototyping
- Translate research insights and business goals into wireframes, mock‑ups and interactive prototypes that drive measurable outcomes.
- Design intuitive user flows and navigation structures that support task completion and engagement.
- Create and maintain design documentation including interaction specifications and annotated wireframes.
- Iterate designs based on stakeholder feedback, usability testing, and performance metrics.
- Design seamless cross‑product journeys that integrate payments, identity, and connectivity services.
- Collaborate with product and engineering to simplify complex financial or telco processes into intuitive digital experiences.
Visual Design & Systems
- Apply visual design principles to ensure clarity, consistency, and aesthetic appeal across interfaces.
- Contribute to and maintain design systems, style guides, and component libraries.
- Ensure designs are responsive and optimised for various devices and screen sizes.
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure design fidelity in implementation.
- Ensure visual and interaction design align with relevant brand, compliance, and accessibility guidelines.
Collaboration & Delivery
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
- Conduct heuristic evaluations and usability audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Advocate for user‑centered design principles throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor user journey performance through analytics and feedback loops, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
- Collaborate with Data and Product teams to run experiments and measure the impact of UX changes.
- Partner with compliance, risk, and data teams to balance usability with regulatory and security requirements.
- Support product managers with UX input into discovery, prioritisation, and go‑to‑market planning.
Documentation & Governance
- Maintain organised records of research findings, design iterations and decision logs.
- Contribute to UX governance by documenting best practices and design guidelines.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of UX processes.
