Job description
Overview

Our client, operating in the Manufacturing Industry is looking to employ a Utility '2' Operator to their team in Port Elizabeth.

Note: Candidates applying must be a qualified artisan - N4 or equivalent trade / artisan qualification.

Requirements
  • Grade 12.
  • N4 or equivalent trade / artisan qualification.
  • 5 years’ experience in an automated factory environment.
  • A thorough knowledge of process and ability to run hi – tech machinery.
  • Understanding of QMS systems and OHS Act.
Responsibilities
  • Setting, operating and maintaining the following machines, as per suppliers operating manuals, including mould changes and start up: Plate enveloping machines, COS machines, Shorts Testing machines, TTP welding machines, Heat Sealing machines, Leak testing machines and Date Coding machines.
  • Ensuring that the automatic and semi-automatic Post Burner equipment is correctly set up and maintained.
  • Ensuring that each line of equipment produces the correct quality product at the nominal production rate for that equipment and taking corrective action if the quality is not correct.
  • Ensuring that all assembly line equipment used is kept clean and safe.
  • Ensuring that the cooling water system and all extraction systems are kept in the correct working condition.
Administration / Record Keeping
  • Complete the appropriate job cards for maintenance work and the production logs, attribute charts and SPC data as required in the assembly work instructions.
Communication
  • Engage professionally with all suppliers, customers, directors, management, peers and subordinates.
Quality
  • Ensure duties are performed in a professional manner at all times according to the customer’s requirements, standards and quality.
