Role Overview
The Utilities Management Administrator will take ownership of monthly billing processes, client reporting and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Run monthly billing operations across our diverse portfolio of properties
- Ensure a high standard of communication and accuracy in reports and interactions with clients
- Provide support in the management of queries and council reconciliations
- Monitor real-time usage data from energy to water via IoT platforms to detect trends, cost inefficiencies and anomalies for proactive intervention
- Leverage dashboards and visualisation tools to provide clients with transparent, live visibility into their utility consumption, enabling informed decision-making
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, municipal billing processes and environmental standards
- Assit your team with energy audits, EPC's and energy balance studies
- Drive continuous improvement by staying updated on emerging technologies, industry best practices and operational efficiency
- Maintain data sources and ensure data integrity and quality
Qualifications
- Diploma, Degree or relevant certification in the utilities management industry
- Tertiary education may be replaced by relevant and strong experience in industry
- Additional certifications in sustainability, energy management or IoT / digital systems will be advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication essential
Experience
- Minimum 5-7 years in utilities management, operations, or facilities management
- Strong track record managing municipal accounts
- Experience with IoT platforms, utilities monitoring systems or smart metering technologies highly advantageous
- Prior exposure to solar energy, O&M services or sustainability projects is a plus
Skills And Competencies
- Excellent analytical abilities, comfortable working in data-driven, IoT-enabled environments
- Proficiency with reporting dashboards, monitoring tools and Excel for performance analysis
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, municipal processes and compliance standards in South Africa
- Excellent client-facing communication and relationship-building abilities, with the ability to simplify technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
