A tax services company is seeking a US Tax Client Specialist for remote work. This role involves managing existing client accounts, conducting annual nexus reviews, and providing support on tax settings and permits. Remaining hours can be completed before or after the core working hours.

The Client Tax Specialist is the principal contact for existing client accounts, handling annual nexus reviews, permit applications, permit closures, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels.
You will organize transaction data, compile nexus information (with supervision), update tax software, oversee the sales tax permit application process, and communicate effectively with clients.
We are seeking someone who is outgoing and capable of researching and explaining complex tax information to clients in English.
Training and support will be provided; attitude and potential are more important than current knowledge.

Professional experience in tax auditing, tax consultancy, or tax advisory is preferred.
Experience with project management, detailed analysis, and research.
Positive references from past supervisors.
Sales tax experience is a plus, but not required.
High attention to detail and strong written, webcam, and phone communication.
Ability to put clients at ease when stressed or anxious.
Ability to set clear boundaries and expectations with clients and follow up to finish tasks.
Excellent time management; productive and focused.
Eager to learn new skills and technologies; good at researching and understanding complex information.
Enjoy bringing order and clarity to complex situations.

Existing Client Project Management : manage changes to existing client accounts and move projects through the workflow in a timely manner; communicate effectively.
Support Existing Clients : assist clients and their Sales Tax Accountants with tax settings, platforms, permits, closures, and offboarding.
Annual Sales Tax Nexus Reviews : analyze factors to determine nexus obligations annually; collaborate with onboarding specialists to review results with clients.
Sales Tax Settings Setup and Testing : update and test tax collection settings on sales platforms for permit start / end dates.
Client Offboarding: support offboarding, including permit closures, final billings, data removal, and ensuring a positive end experience.
First Contact for Existing Clients Needing Support : provide support across nexus reviews, permits, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels; optimize onboarding time for new clients.
Billing Support: primary contact for billing changes or issues for all clients.
Contributing to Onboarding Process Improvement : identify and implement improvements to workflow to deliver a hassle-free experience while minimizing risk.
After a year on the job, you'll be measured by these outcomes :
Annual Nexus Reviews : 95% of existing clients complete their annual nexus review within days of last review.
Capacity : manage 70 existing clients; finalize 2-4 nexus reviews per month and permit / offboardings per month.
Education Hours : 3 hours per quarter in work-related education or training.
Quarterly Rocks : 80%+ completion rate for the year.
Target compensation : 24, monthly ZAR, commensurate with experience.
43 days off per year (22 holidays + 21 days PTO) plus 3 additional days for volunteering.
