Our team is looking for a US Tax Specialist to join our onboarding team.
The Client Tax Specialist serves as the principal contact for existing client accounts in areas including annual nexus reviews, permit applications, permit closures, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels.
You will organize transaction data, compile nexus information (with supervision), update tax software, oversee the sales tax permit application process, and communicate effectively with clients.
You will work directly with clients to address needs and ensure a positive experience.
The role evolves toward tax expertise, with training provided.

We're looking for someone ready to learn and grow, with non-negotiables including :
Professional
Experience in tax auditing, tax consultancy, or tax advisory preferred.
Experience with project management and detailed analysis / research.
Positive references from past supervisors.
Sales tax experience is a plus but not required.
Interpersonal
High attention to detail and thoroughness.
Effective written, video, and phone communication.
Ability to put clients at ease and manage expectations; follow‑up as needed.
Strong time management; willing to learn new skills and technologies; strong research abilities.

Existing Client Project Management: Manage changes to existing client accounts in the areas outlined above.
Support Existing Clients and their Sales Tax Accountants with issues that arise.
Annual Sales Tax Nexus Reviews: Analyze presence factors to determine changes in nexus obligations annually.
Sales Tax Settings Setup and Testing: Update / test tax collection settings on sales platforms for new permit dates.
Client Offboarding: Manage permit closure information, final billings, data removal, and ensure a positive end‑user experience.
First Contact for Existing Clients Needing Support: Cover nexus reviews, permit applications, closures, offboarding, tax settings, and new sales channels.
Billing Support: Primary point of contact for billing changes or issues for all clients.
Contributing to Onboarding Process Improvement.
After a year on the job, success metrics include :
Annual Nexus Reviews: 95% of existing clients complete within days.
Capacity: Manage 70 existing clients; finalise 2-4 nexus reviews per month and
Education Hours: 3 hours per quarter in work‑related education or training.
Quarterly Rocks: At least 80% completion rate for the year.
Target compensation: 24, monthly ZAR, commensurate with experience.
43 days off per year: 22 holidays plus 21 days of PTO.
3 additional days off per year to volunteer with a nonprofit of your choice.
% remote work with core hours 2:30-7:30 PM SAST.
