Placements24 is seeking an Upstream Completions Engineer in Soweto to design, plan and execute well completion strategies, select equipment, and monitor post-completion performance. The role is hybrid, combining office and field work.

You will work with drilling and production teams to maximize hydrocarbon recovery, ensure well integrity, and support safe operations across upstream oil & gas projects in South Africa.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in well completions engineering within the upstream Oil & Gas sector.
• Proven experience with open-hole, cased-hole, and intelligent completions.
• Solid understanding of artificial lift systems (e.g., ESPs, rod pumps, gas lift).
• Familiarity with wellbore integrity, formation damage, and stimulation techniques.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Upstream Completions Engineer to join their technical team in Soweto . This hybrid role is vital for optimizing well productivity and ensuring the safe, efficient completion of oil and gas wells. You will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing well completion strategies, selecting appropriate completion equipment, and monitoring well performance post-completion. This position requires a strong understanding of reservoir characteristics, completion techniques, and wellbore integrity. Working collaboratively with drilling and production teams, you will play a key role in maximizing hydrocarbon recovery and ensuring the economic viability of exploration and production assets within the Oil & Gas industry .
