Job summary

A marine services company in Cape Town is looking for an Upholsterer to maintain and repair upholstery works across various areas including cabins and lounges. Candidates should have experience in upholstery and knowledge of health and safety regulations. This role involves reporting on materials and supporting other teams as required. • Repair and maintain upholstery works in cabins and public spaces.
• Ensure correct use of wallpapers and lay carpets or linoleum.
• Report missing spare parts and verify delivery with Superiors.
• Support Deck team and Furniture & Interior Officer Team as needed.

Job description

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• The Upholstereris in charge with repairing and maintenance upholstery works in the cabins, all public spaces and lounges including big upholstery covering scheduled like sofas, chairs, stools covering for entire area in case needed
• Correct use of wallpapers
• Carpet/Linoleum Lay
• Report of missing spare parts and verifying correct delivery monitoring together his Superior and soliciting the material needed to Storekeeper Facility
• Knowledge transfer how best to proceed with maintenance in the field of upholstery
• In emergency cases the Upholsterer is obliged to support the Deck team
• In case of needs the Upholsterer is obliged to support all Furniture & Interior Officer Team under Facility Manager and Furniture Interiors Officer instructions

Supports an effective and sustainable health and safety culture and environment on board, follows strictly HESS regulations and any Health and Safety Protocols in force to prevent the spread of diseases on board and reports to the Head of Department any observed violations of the Company's health procedures.
