Overview

Location: Johannesburg
Contract Type: Full-time | Shift Work Required

Are you a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse ready to lead in a fast-paced, global medical assistance environment? Our client is seeking a Nursing Coordinator to provide clear leadership and deliver world-class medical assistance services to our clients across the globe.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage medical assistance cases in collaboration with Medical Directors, Nurse Managers, and Assistance Doctors.
  • Provide expert medical direction, due diligence, and case oversight from initial contact to resolution.
  • Coordinate hospitalisation, medical evacuations, and repatriations, ensuring adherence to company Medical Transportation Standards.
  • Deliver telephone-based medical assessments and advice to clients, patients, and stakeholders worldwide.
  • Liaise with treating physicians, insurance providers, and internal teams to ensure seamless case management.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation and ensure timely handovers across shifts.
  • Act as a medical escort when required and determine appropriate escort personnel for specific cases.
  • Contribute to network development through site surveys and provider referrals.
  • Support business development initiatives and promote company services to clients.
Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

  • BSc Nursing or Diploma in Nursing – Registered Nurse (RN) and registered with SANC.
  • 5+ years post-graduate experience, ideally in Emergency, Trauma, or ICU settings.
  • Previous experience as a Unit Manager or Nurse Manager.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Experience in medical escort services is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Other Requirements
  • Must have a valid passport
  • Must be willing and able to work 12-hour shift patterns
  • 45 hours per week
  • 22 annual leave days/ other leave as per BCEA.
  • Gross Monthly Salary - this is inclusive of 15% Shift Allowance and 20% Sunday allowance
