Job summary

Omnia Holdings is seeking a Blasting Engineer - Underground to lead technical blasting services for our underground operations. The role covers development, testing, and optimisation of blasting techniques, with emphasis on safety, efficiency, and sustainability within a global mining context.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the incumbent will build strong mining-industry relationships, contribute to policy development, and support R&D efforts while ensuring high-quality technical outputs

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining Engineering required.
• 5 years' continuous blasting technical services experience.
• Postgraduate degree in mining engineering (Advantageous).
• Trained in the application of blast monitoring equipment (Advantageous).
• Technical report writing experience (Advantageous).
• Project management (Advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling and measurement of cartridges.
• Develop and test blasting optimisation technology to provide high-quality products/services.
• Conduct and manage blasting risk assessments, designs and performance reports.
• Stay abreast of global blasting advances; implement policies and processes for excellence.
• Provide advanced technical support on fragmentation analysis, VOD measurements, operations, audits and reports.
• Differentiate the company by identifying value-adding activities for customers.
• Establish long-term relationships with mine decision-makers.
• Provide service on explosives and accessories; audit product application and performance underground.
• Assist R&D with quality tests and assurance.
