Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Tsogo Sun Digital in Cape Town is seeking a UI Designer to own how our products look and work across desktop, mobile web and app for playTSOGO and bet.co.za. You turn briefs from product, marketing and CRM into wireframes and developer-ready designs in Figma, and you collaborate with front-end developers to ensure what goes live matches your design.
We demand a mobile-first mindset, a UX brain and a conversion focus, balancing brand with usability, accessibility, and commercial goals in a live
Cape Town based role
One rule before you read on: put a link to your portfolio in your CV. We're hiring a designer, so we'd rather look at your work than read about it. Think of the portfolio link as a required field. No link, and the form doesn't submit.
Tsogo Sun is the name behind Montecasino, Gold Reef City, Suncoast and a portfolio of 14 casino and entertainment destinations across South Africa. Tsogo Sun Digital is where that heritage goes online. We run the group's digital ventures, including playTSOGO and bet.co.za, in a market that never sits still. Start-up pace. Blue-chip backing. A customer base most digital businesses can only dream of, and the mandate to go after it.
Do you love designing digital experiences that feel intuitive, look polished and make it easy for customers to take action?
Can you move from a user journey to a wireframe, from a responsive interface to an interactive prototype, and from a design concept to developer-ready specifications without losing clarity or consistency?
Can you look at a registration or deposit funnel, see exactly where customers are dropping off, and fix it in the layout and the journey, not just the copy?
You know the designer we mean. The one who can't open a betting app without redesigning its cashier in their head. Who knows the bet slip is the most important screen in the product and treats it that way. Who argues for one less field in the registration form, and wins. Whose Figma files are so clean the developers stop asking questions. Who has the prototype clickable before the meeting ends, and then goes and checks the numbers after it ships.
Tsogo Sun Digital is looking for a UI Designer to join our growing digital team in Cape Town.
You own how our products look and work on screen, on desktop, on mobile web and in app, across playTSOGO and bet.co.za. That means the page layouts, the end-to-end journeys, the components and the design systems behind them. You take briefs from product, marketing and CRM, turn them into wireframes, prototypes and developer-ready designs in Figma, and work with our front-end developers until what's live matches what you designed. You are measured on whether customers get through the journeys you design: registration, deposit, finding a game, placing a bet.
This is a UI role with a UX brain and a conversion mindset. You will balance brand expression with usability, responsive behaviour, accessibility, responsible gambling requirements and commercial objectives. Our front end runs on a third-party gaming platform (Playtech), so part of the craft is knowing the platform well enough to get the most out of it, and knowing when to push for more.
Around nine in ten of our customers are on a phone. So this is mobile-first in the true sense: thumb zones, one-handed use, bottom navigation, fast-loading pages and interfaces that work on a cracked Android screen in a taxi, not just on a designer's monitor. Desktop still matters, and so does the app. You design for all three without designing three different products.
We are especially looking for someone who understands that interface design is not decoration. It is structure. It is clarity. It is consistency. It is reducing friction. It is helping customers understand what to do next and making every interaction feel simple and intentional. In a betting and gaming product, that is also where the money is: a confusing deposit form, a registration step too many, or a bet slip that hides the button all cost real revenue every day.
You will work day to day with our creative designers, who own the brand look and feel, and with our front-end developers, who build what you design. You turn brand into interface, and interface into developer-ready specs. You will also work closely with product owners, CRM, marketing and the testing team.
You'll live in Figma: components, variants, auto layout, variables, interactive prototypes and Dev Mode handover. If you're already using AI-assisted design and prototyping tools such as Claude Design or Open Design to get from idea to clickable prototype in an afternoon, that's a real advantage here. We use AI every day and we want people who do too.
What's on offer is a live product used by real customers every day, two brands, two design systems that are yours to own, a growing team with real momentum, and numbers you can watch move when your work goes live. Most designers spend their careers polishing someone else's product. Here, you help shape ours.
