Key Responsibilities
- Developing trim covers to optimize the sewing process for manufacturing and obtain quality approval from the OEM customer.
- Strip sample seats/trim covers and make paper templates for each cut panel
- Digitize each paper panel and ensure all technical details are correct
- Plot patterns on a 1:1 scale, ID each pattern by material type and add sewing borders
- Confirm sewing process steps (Process flow diagram)
- Verify sew line distances by simulating sewing start to end on Accumark or AutoCad software or manually comparing 2D templates
- Hand optimized digital or paper patterns over for marker making and CNC cutting
- Construct bill of material for each trim cover showing hang on parts
- Sew trim covers or review sewing process to ensure optimized sewing process
- Built seat or review seat building process to review the quality of the complete seat
- Change patterns after build review to improve sewing and quality concerns
- Repeat steps until the sewing process and seat quality is approved.
- Ensure notches and direction constraints are shown on patterns
- Ensure templates are correctly identified and stored by trim option
- Assist with BOM verifications
- Assist with day to day sewing problems
Key skills and Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Relevant qualification (2D CAD or 2D drawings)
- PC literacy is essential, relating to MS Outlook, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of the German language would be an advantage.
Related Experience
- Must be a self-starter, a team player, positive, self-motivated and be able to work under pressure.
- 5 years minimum relevant experience is essential.
- Relevant seat trim development experience will be considered as an advantage.
Special Requirements
- An assertive individual with strong problem-solving skills in a trim/sewing manufacturing environment is essential.
- Accumark/pattern making software experience would be advantageous.
