Job summary

Armstrong Appointments seeks a Treasurer & Banker to join its finance team in Durban. The role requires a Bachelor’s or diploma in Finance/Accounting with at least 3 years of treasury or banking experience, strong Excel skills, and a solid grasp of cash flow management and banking processes.

You will manage multiple bank accounts, perform reconciliations, and prepare cash flow forecasts while ensuring accurate recording of transactions and timely payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, or a related field.
• Experience in treasury, banking or financial management preferred.
• Strong Excel and accounting knowledge required.

Responsibilities

• Recording and capturing transactions from bank statements into the accounting system.
• Matching and allocations of accounts receivables receipts and accounts payables payment.
• Cashbook processing, management and reconciliations.
• Preparation of 3-month cashflow forecast and daily tracking.
• Manage cash transfers between bank accounts.
• Identify potential cash shortfalls or surpluses and recommend appropriate actions.
• Optimize the use of available cash while maintaining liquidity reserves.
• Monitor interest earned on surplus cash and interest paid on borrowings.
