You will lead game drives and walking safaris, delivering world-class guest experiences while upholding safety, conservation, and guest engagement.

This role is ideal for a Field Guide with FGASA Trails, ARH, and NQF4 credentials, who enjoys mentoring junior guides and sharing wildlife knowledge.

Qualifications

• Candidates must hold Full FGASA Trails Guide (VPDA) qualification.
• Current ARH certification is required.
• Minimum FGASA Professional Field Guide (NQF4).
• Registered Tourist Guide with provincial registrar and valid badge.
• Valid First Aid certification is essential.
• Valid driver’s license and PrDP.
• South African citizenship or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct game drives and walking safaris for guests.
• Maintain highest safety, conservation and guest engagement standards.
• Mentor junior guides and share wildlife knowledge.
• Deliver world-class guest experiences in Big 5 environments.

A prestigious luxury safari lodge in the renowned Sabi Sand region is seeking an experienced Senior Guide to join its professional guiding team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified Trails Guide with extensive Guiding experience in Big 5 environments to further their career within the safari and hospitality industry.

The successful candidate will deliver world-class guest experiences through game drives and walking safaris while maintaining the highest standards of safety, conservation, and guest engagement. This role is ideally suited to a passionate Field Guide who enjoys mentoring junior guides and sharing their knowledge of wildlife, ecology, and conservation. Key requirements have been provided by the employer and align with industry-leading guiding standards.

Job Requirements

• Full FGASA Trails Guide (VPDA) qualification.
• Current Advanced Rifle Handling (ARH) certification.
• Minimum FGASA Professional Field Guide (NQF4) qualification.
• Registered Tourist Guide with the relevant Provincial Registrar and in possession of a valid registration badge.
• Valid First Aid certification.
• Valid driver’s licence and current PrDP.
• South African citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid work permit.
• Clear criminal record.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ Guiding experience.
• Proven experience conducting walking trails in Big 5 environments.
• Strong guest interaction, leadership, mentoring, and communication skills.
• Passion for conservation, wildlife interpretation, and professional safari experiences.
