Job summary

PetroSA is seeking an entry-level professional to join the Middle Office trading risk team in Cape Town/Johannesburg. The role focuses on risk control, valuation, and reporting for trading activities within a fixed-term contract framework.

You will monitor daily exposures, assist in price risk management, and support policy development to ensure regulatory and internal controls are met. Applicants should have a relevant degree and suitable industry experience.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience in a financial environment, particularly in the Middle Office.
• Knowledge of risk controls and compliance is required.
• Exposure to equity derivatives and market risk analysis is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform portfolio valuation and reporting on daily trading exposures and P/L.
• Ensure compliance by monitoring trading limits and trade confirmations.
• Contribute to development of price risk management policies and procedures.
• Analyse external market environment for best practice in trading controls.
• Support departmental projects and initiatives to meet milestones.
