Join to apply for the Trader / Dealer role at Merchant West Investments Description We are seeking a Trader / Dealer to execute and manage trades across local and global markets, including equities, fixed income, FX, money market instruments, derivatives, and unit trusts.

This role covers end-to-end trade execution, compliance monitoring, broker relationship management, and cash flow oversight to ensure seamless portfolio implementation and alignment with regulatory requirements.

With exposure to a broad range of asset classes and international markets, this opportunity offers scope for leadership in managing broker relationships and contributing to investment and operational projects.

Responsibilities Execute trades across local and global markets including equities, fixed income, FX, money market instruments, derivatives and unit trust funds Determine and implement appropriate trading tactics Perform trade booking, reconciliation and cash flow processing to ensure settlement across markets Liaise with portfolio managers, brokers, custodians and administration teams to ensure smooth trade and portfolio implementation Ensure pre- and post-trade compliance with regulatory, client and internal risk limits Monitor exposures and address breaches or exceptions proactively Monitor and report on liquidity risks and exposures Manage and maintain broker relationships Oversee trade allocation process and ensure fair allocation in line with internal targets Monitor fund cash positions and prevent overdraft positions by following standing instructions Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports Assist with and lead selected investment and operational projects Provide input into various investment matters
