Our client is on the hunt for a vibrant, creative, and energetic Trade Marketing Manager to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Trade Marketing function and team, including the Commercial Analyst and Trade Marketing Coordinator.
  • Input into the annual A&P budget process and directly manage Trade Marketing channel budgets.
  • Oversee Trade Marketing budgets with routines to track spend.
  • Plan, budget, and implement trade activities.
  • Develop and maintain quarterly integrated calendars with marketing and commercial teams.
  • Support the commercial team in delivering effective trade programs to meet objectives.
  • Coordinate timelines with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of plans.
  • Work with sales and marketing to create channel-specific activities to increase footfall and revenue.
  • Build relationships with chain marketing departments, manage in-store media rate cards, and bookings.
  • Refine and develop in-trade plans aligned with objectives and budgets.
  • Plan and execute in-store media bookings, online packages, and e-commerce initiatives.
  • Advise on trade elements, design, and target reach.
  • Manage reach strategies and guide sales teams on outlet selection.
  • Optimize delivery and kitting plans for in-trade elements.
  • Engage with stakeholders, suppliers, and printers for smooth execution.
  • Participate in weekly routines and prepare quarterly sales toolkits and roadshow materials.
  • Develop sell-in slides, documents, and success metrics for campaigns.
  • Conduct reviews to assess trade marketing success.
  • Guide the Commercial Analyst in developing tools for target achievement.
  • Develop gifting CPAs, manage gifting budgets, and oversee logistics.
  • Track sales of gifts and measure performance.
  • Create and manage NPD calendars and monitor supply chain for launches.
  • Brief trade presenters and maintain merchandising standards.
  • Forecast sales and revenue, track KPIs, and develop revenue projections.
  • Manage rebate contracts, perform rebate calculations, and monitor sales performance metrics.
  • Assist with ad hoc presentations and set up incentive tracking.
  • Monitor discounts and develop market expansion plans.
  • Maintain segmentation data and optimize resourcing models.

Requirements and Experience:

  • University degree in Marketing, Trade Marketing, Economics, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in Brand or Trade marketing within an international FMCG environment, with 3+ years in a senior role.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Extensive experience with trade/BTL marketing projects, agency collaboration, and project management.
  • Knowledge of sales and the liquor market is advantageous.
  • Proven team management, capability building, and leadership skills.
