Responsibilities

  • Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools.
  • Following engineering drawings to measure and mark out the design for the tool.
  • Using hand tools and machinery to cut and shape the tools.
  • Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line.
  • Assisting with tool maintenance and compiling reports.
  • Ensuring the organisation and cleanliness of the workplace.
  • Analysing and optimising existing manufacturing processes.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Assembling, fitting, and repairing tools.
  • Following engineering drawings to measure and mark out the design for the tool.
  • Using hand tools such as files, hacksaws, and grinders.
  • Using machinery such as lathes, presses, milling machines, and grinders to cut and shape the tools.
  • Using 2D and 3D computer-aided design and manufacturing software (CAD/CAM).
  • Using precision measurement instruments such as micrometers, gauges, and vernier calipers to check the tool's dimensions.
  • Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or improvements.
  • Attending to machine breakdowns to identify the root cause and solve the problem.
  • Assisting with tool maintenance.
  • Assisting with compiling necessary maintenance and tooling department reports.
  • Ensuring the organisation and cleanliness of the workplace.
  • Maintaining facilities, equipment, and machines used in good repair.
  • Proper segregation of waste.
  • Reducing consumption that leads to positive environmental impacts.
  • Raising awareness of the occurrence or possible occurrence of environmental impact.
  • Analysing and optimising existing manufacturing processes and tools at the Company.
  • Studying and implementing changes in manufacturing processes aimed at increasing productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Performing any ad hoc duties required by the department.
