The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience in automotive press tooling and a Trade Test qualification in Tool, Jig & Die making. Responsibilities include assembling and maintaining tooling, repairing faulty tools, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble and maintain tooling with fine blank cutting clearances.

Job description

PURPOSE

Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and processes, while maintaining budget compliance

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 6 years manufacturing experience in Automotive press tooling is essential.
• Trade Test qualified in Tool, Jig & Die making essential.
• Knowledge of form tooling and component tramline development.
• Ability to recognize form, trim and pierce stage tooling problems and provide solutions.
• Ability to recognize progression tooling problems and provide solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assembling, Maintaining & Improving tooling with fine blank cutting clearances.
• Assembling, Maintaining & Improving form tooling.
• Assisting the CNC machining and all areas when requested to.
• General Tool repairs over all factory departments.
• Repairing of faulty & damaged tools as per production requirements and priorities as recommended by all manufacturing Cell Leaders.
• Standardizing of press tools for improved SMED.
• Upgrading of tools where improvements are identified.
• Standardizing tools for standardized presses up to 500tons.
• Making of machine components for maintenance support.
• Maintain record of all tool repairs.
• Use of machine’s in Toolroom (example: Lathe, Milling Machine, Grinder,
• Welder, Tryout presses.) TIG 7 ARC welding for cutting edges.
• Hydraulic & Mechanical presses.
• Performing daily checks on toolroom machines.
• Making of machine components for maintenance support.
• Proficiency in using micrometers, Vernier’s, height gauges for tooling and component development.
• Actively participate in scrap & quality concerns analysis meetings and workshops, generating and implementing ideas and/or changes to processes and/or tooling to reduce internal and external scrap parts.
• Aligning focus as per above plans.
• Ensuring that F-M part quality standards are adhered to and sustained to ensure all products leaving site continuous to be marketed as premium products.
• Identify and implement process improvement, tooling improvements, material usage reduction, etc.
• Obey all HSE rules.
• Ensure, and keep the Toolroom in a neat & safe condition always.
• Keeping the new equipment in perfect working condition.
• Ensuring that WI and SWWP on all equipment are obeyed.
• Constructively participate in Kaizen (Team Continuous Improvement) & POP’s (Preventative Observation programmes.
