Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified Toolmaker.
  • Minimum 5–7 years' experience in a toolroom or maintenance role within an injection moulding or plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines, mould design, and tooling materials.
  • Proven experience managing a team in a production or manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and tolerances.
  • Understanding of preventive maintenance programs, mould life cycles, and production efficiency metrics.
  • Proficient in Excel, ERP systems, and maintenance tracking software.
Duties
  • Oversee toolroom operations, ensuring moulds, dies, and tooling equipment are maintained, repaired, and optimized for peak performance.
  • Supervise and mentor toolroom staff; coordinate maintenance schedules and enforce safety and quality standards.
  • Schedule and prioritize tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications to reduce production downtime.
  • Maintain accurate tooling inventory and maintenance records.
  • Diagnose and resolve mould issues impacting product quality or machine efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to address tooling concerns promptly.
  • Assist with mould setup and changeovers as required.
  • Recommend tooling improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
