Qualifications

  • Cert IV in Child & Family Intervention or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience working with children at risk or in care.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification.

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Therapeutic Residential Carer to join their team in Alice Springs.

This is a permanent part‑time position with a range of shifts available.

What you’ll do
  • Work within the CARE model to enhance the lives of young people in our residential Out of Home Care program, incorporating a therapeutic, trauma‑informed approach.
  • Create a home‑like environment for young people in care, tailored to their individual needs.
  • Assist with daily living, such as cooking, cleaning, and transporting young people to school and activities.
  • Support young people to engage with their community and family.
  • Help young people attain their educational goals and undertake extracurricular activities.
  • Act as an adult role model, build relationships, and trust with young people.
  • Work with young people through tough and emotional times, providing practical and trauma‑informed support.
  • Utilize Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to help young people work through complex behaviours.
Skills & Experience You'll Require
  • Cert IV in Child & Family Intervention or other relevant qualification.
  • Experience working with children at risk or in care.
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification.
