Job summary

joint-medical-holdings is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead and supervise theatre staff in Durban. You will ensure compliance with policies and regulations, manage drug handling within legal requirements, and support teaching of unit staff.

A minimum of two years in Recovery Room is preferred, with readiness to work additional hours and strong telephone skills. The role demands independence, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain the highest theatre standards

Qualifications

Must be registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse with valid APC.
Good interpersonal skills with doctors, patients and colleagues.
Preferably two or more years of experience in Recovery Room or similar settings.
Must be prepared to work additional hours.
Must have excellent telephone skills.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
Must be computer literate – MS Word & Excel.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise theatre staff to maintain high standards of patient care.
Ensure theatre operations comply with hospital policies and regulations.
Teach and mentor unit staff in clinical practices and procedures.
Collaborate with doctors and other departments to ensure smooth recovery room workflow.
