We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Units Manager – Theatres to lead our surgical theatre team in delivering world‑class care.

About the Role

As the Units Manager – Theatres, you will play a key leadership role in managing the day‑to‑day operations of our ophthalmic theatres, ensuring excellence in surgical preparation, patient safety, and staff coordination. You will work closely with our ophthalmologists and surgical team, guiding quality outcomes and operational efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of clinical care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all theatres operations and nursing staff
  • Ensure optimal staff performance through evaluation, training, and mentorship
  • Maintain theatres readiness, equipment functionality, and infection control
  • Monitor and uphold nursing standards, patient safety, and clinical protocols
  • Coordinate surgical procedures, rosters, and after‑hours calls
  • Lead quality improvement and enforce adherence to hospital policies
  • Ensure accurate documentation, stock control, and cost efficiency
  • Medical aid authorisation

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with current SANC registration
