Job summary

A leading aerospace company in Cape Town is seeking a candidate to write and maintain test scripts for complex aeronautical products. The ideal individual will have a National Diploma in Electronics and at least 2 years of experience in development or support. Experience in scripting languages and debugging are essential. Affirmative Action and EE candidates will be prioritized.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in electronics or software development.
  • Ability to write and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Experience debugging production test failures.

Job description
Overview

Responsible for writing and maintaining test scripts for complex aeronautical products and internally developed test jigs using an in-house developed test writing tool.

Responsibilities
  • Write and maintain production and verification test scripts, using an in-house developed test writing tool, for aeronautical products as specified by the design and system engineers.
  • Write and maintain scripts using batch tools like Jenkins.
  • Follow formal software life cycle and release processes.
  • Perform debugging of production test failures, analysis of test results, including the use of SQL and other tools.
Qualifications
  • National Diploma in Electronics or any relevant technical or software qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an electronics development, production or support environment or any relevant technical or software development environment
  • Ability to understand and translate the functionality and interaction between complex hardware systems into automated test scripts
  • A working knowledge of basic software programming principles (conditional logic, loops, variables etc.)
  • Working experience in:
    • C – Complex electronic systems
    • Java Script, Python, VB Script or any other scripting language
  • Experience in the following would be advantageous:
    • SQL
    • Continuous integration tools, e.g. Jenkins
    • Version control tools, e.g. SVN
