Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking an experienced Test Automation Specialist in Midrand to develop and maintain robust automation frameworks for web, API, and mobile testing.

You will work with Postman, SOAP UI, Rest Assured, and Appium, mentor junior testers, and drive quality across engagements. The role emphasizes leadership and strategic testing direction, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field.
• 4-7 years relevant work experience.
• Experience with API testing and automation frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the test automation frameworks.
• Perform API Testing using Postman, SOAP UI, and Rest Assured.
• Mobile Application automation, including Appium and other mobile supported testing tools.
• Ensure data quality in the test environments.
• Monitor test environment status (data quality, downtime, performance, readiness).
• Provide technical leadership and support the creation of automated tests.
• Advise on innovative testing products and solutions.
• Define and administer standard testing architecture, processes, and tools across engagements.
• Ensure quality practices across functional and non-functional testing.
• Support the strategic direction of Continuous Testing and Assurance Practice.
• Run the quality engineering Community of Practice.
• Review scripting from the QA Engineers and ensure standards are met.
• Ensure infrastructure for automation is in good working order and secure.
• Install applications and databases relevant to automation and manage access to automation infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other units to improve workflows through automation.
• Gather requirements to develop optimal automation solutions.
• Lead and mentor junior automation testers.
• Provide multi-level reporting across test delivery to senior stakeholders.

• Support the strategic direction of our Continuous Testing and Assurance Practice

• Ensure the infrastructure needed for our technical testing solutions is in good working order, fit for purpose, and used effectively and efficiently

• Collaborate with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow
• Gather requirements from clients, customers, or end-users to develop the best automation solutions
