XTEMP is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Test and Measurement Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales and providing technical support for DEWESoft's advanced data acquisition systems and software, including data loggers, signal conditioners, and analysis software tailored for applications such as structural testing, vehicle dynamics, and industrial monitoring.

This role combines technical expertise with sales to deliver exceptional value to our clients across South Africa.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development : Identify and engage potential clients in industries such as automotive, aerospace, energy, and research to promote advanced data acquisition systems, sensors, and software solutions.
  • Technical Support : Provide pre- and post-sales technical assistance, including product demonstrations, system configuration, and troubleshooting to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their measurement needs and recommending tailored solutions.
  • Product Expertise : Develop in-depth knowledge of the company's product portfolio, including modular data acquisition systems, high-channel-count systems, and specialized software for applications such as NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) testing, power analysis, and high-speed data recording.
  • Training and Presentations : Conduct training sessions, webinars, and presentations to showcase product capabilities and help clients maximize their investment.
  • Market Analysis : Stay informed about industry trends and competitor offerings to position XTEMP as a market leader in test and measurement solutions.
  • Sales Targets : Achieve and exceed sales goals through proactive lead generation, follow-ups, and deal closures while maintaining accurate records in CRM systems.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technical sales or a related role, preferably in test and measurement or instrumentation.
  • Strong understanding of data acquisition principles, signal processing, and measurement technologies.
  • Familiarity with advanced data acquisition systems is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven track record in B2B sales, with experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, or industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel within South Africa as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DEWESoft systems or similar test and measurement solutions.
  • Knowledge of applications such as vibration analysis, power quality testing, or high-speed data acquisition.
  • Existing network of contacts in relevant industries.
