Job summary

AES Global is seeking a Test Analyst to build robust automated test suites with a focus on quality, reliability and AI tooling. You will design, write and maintain tests in Playwright using TypeScript/JavaScript, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Hybrid role based in South Africa, with potential office days in Gqeberha or Johannesburg. Requires 2+ years in software testing and hands-on Playwright experience, plus experience with AI-driven test tooling.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software testing or test automation.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
• Experience using AI tools to generate, review or maintain automated tests.
• National diploma or higher in IT, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.

We're working with an established supply chain technology company that delivers solutions to emerging markets across the globe, and they're looking for a Test Analyst to build robust automated test suites with a focus on quality, reliability and modern AI tooling.

What you'll do

• Design, write and maintain well-structured, reliable automated tests in Playwright, using industry best practices
• Use AI tools to accelerate test creation, maintenance and coverage analysis
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the products and processes
• Work closely with testers, developers and internal teams — account managers, project managers, business and system analysts

What you'll bring

• At least 2 years' experience in software testing or test automation
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (and TypeScript/JavaScript)
• Practical experience using AI tools to generate, review or maintain automated tests
• A national diploma or higher in IT, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience

Advantageous

• QMetry or another test-case management tool
• UI and API test automation, SQL for test data (PostgreSQL), and CI/CD integration of test suites
• Automotive or logistics industry experience, large-scale SaaS, and Agile (Scrum)

Working model

Hybrid — one day a week in the office, based in Gqeberha or Johannesburg (fully remote may be considered for the right person).
