Position Overview

MCI is a fast‑growing business services company with a strong call center footprint across multiple countries. As an Accountant on a 4–5 month temporary contract, you will support daily financial operations, assist with reporting, and collaborate across departments. The candidate should have 1–3 years of accounting experience and be available to start immediately.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records, including journal entries, general ledger accounts, and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Conduct variance and trend analyses to identify discrepancies and improvement areas.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting by compiling and analyzing financial data.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests with appropriate documentation and explanations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and share financial insights.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to streamline accounting processes and enhance accuracy.
Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or completed postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally in financial reporting or general ledger functions.
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and formulas).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data handling.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross‑team collaboration.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be authorized to work in South Africa.
  • Must be willing to submit up to a Level II background and/or security investigation with a fingerprint.
  • Must be willing to submit to drug screening (does not apply in Canada).

Physical Requirements
