Qualifications

• Qualification in Bookkeeping/Accounting/Finance is required.
• Experience with reconciliations and transaction processing.
• Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Retail/high-volume environment experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Process day-to-day financial transactions accurately and within required deadlines.
• Capture journals and standard accounting entries.
• Allocate transactions to the relevant general ledger accounts and cost centres.
• Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
• Complete reconciliations for petty cash, own-use, fuel and support office accounts.
• Investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Check that supporting documentation is complete and compliant.
• Maintain organised finance filing and record-keeping systems.
• Assist with month-end preparation and supporting schedules.
• Prepare reconciliations and reports for accountants and finance management.
• Follow internal finance policies, controls and approval procedures.
• Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions and escalation where required.
• Assist with audit requests by providing documentation and reconciliations.
• Liaise with stores, suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance queries.
• Support improvements to finance administration and day-to-day processes.
