About the Role

Our client, a leading telecommunications company in Nelspruit , is seeking a skilled Telecoms Network Planning Engineer to join their expanding engineering department. This role is central to designing and optimizing the future capacity and capabilities of our client's network infrastructure across the Mpumalanga region. You will be involved in long-term network planning, capacity management, and technology evolution, ensuring our network can meet future demands. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop long-term network expansion and upgrade plans based on traffic forecasts and technology roadmaps.
  • Conduct capacity analysis and ensure network resources are optimally allocated to meet demand.
  • Evaluate new telecommunications technologies and propose their integration into the network architecture.
  • Create detailed network designs and implementation plans for new services and infrastructure enhancements.
  • Collaborate with network operations and deployment teams to ensure smooth implementation of planned upgrades.
  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in network planning, design, or engineering within the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong knowledge of network planning principles, capacity management, and traffic forecasting.
  • Familiarity with various telecommunications technologies, including mobile (4G/5G), fibre optics, and IP networking.
  • Proficiency in network simulation and planning tools.
