About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Telecoms Network Planner to contribute to their infrastructure development initiatives in Paarl, Western Cape. This role is essential for the foresight and strategic design of our client's expanding network capabilities, ensuring capacity, efficiency, and future readiness. You will analyze network traffic data, forecast future demands, and plan for the deployment of new technologies and infrastructure upgrades. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operations teams to translate long-term vision into actionable network expansion plans, playing a key role in the sustained growth of our client's telecommunications services.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze current network performance, traffic patterns, and capacity utilization to identify areas for improvement and future planning.
- Develop long-term network expansion strategies and detailed deployment plans, considering technological advancements and market trends.
- Forecast future network demand and capacity requirements across various services and geographic areas.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of proposed network upgrades and new technology deployments.
- Create and maintain comprehensive network design documentation, including capacity plans, topology maps, and resource allocation strategies.
- Evaluate vendor proposals and solutions for network infrastructure components.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network planning, design, or engineering within the telecoms industry.
- Strong understanding of network architectures, transmission technologies, and capacity planning methodologies.
- Proficiency in network modeling and simulation tools, as well as capacity planning software.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and forecast future trends.
