Placements24 is seeking a Telecom Network Planner to join our remote team supporting Stellenbosch operations. The role focuses on long-term planning, design, and capacity management of the telecommunications network to meet future demand.

You will analyze network traffic data, forecast growth, and develop strategic plans for expansion and optimization, collaborating with engineering and operations while enjoying a remote-friendly work environment in Stellenbosch's tech ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications or Electrical Engineering or related field.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Telecom Network Planner to join their remote team, supporting operations in Stellenbosch . This role is responsible for the long-term planning, design, and capacity management of our telecommunications network to meet future demand and service requirements. You will analyze network traffic data, forecast growth, and develop strategic plans for network expansion and optimization. This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking planner to contribute to the evolution of our network infrastructure from a remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze current network performance and traffic patterns to forecast future capacity needs.
• Develop long-term network expansion plans, including site selection, technology deployment, and resource allocation.
• Create detailed network designs and schematics for new infrastructure builds and upgrades.
• Evaluate and propose new technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities and efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure plans are technically feasible and financially sound.
• Prepare reports and present network plans and recommendations to management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in telecom network planning , design, or engineering.
• Strong understanding of network architectures, transmission technologies (fiber optics, microwave), and capacity planning principles.
• Proficiency with network planning tools and simulation software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and forecasting skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting , with strong communication skills.
