Our client is an official distributor for many Shrink Management Solution products. They install and support Electronic Article Surveillance, Foot-Counters and RFID systems that connect to local networks and cloud servers. They are looking for a Technician to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In-house training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone with basic technical skills who wants to grow in the field of connected electronic systems.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Installation: Assist in installing Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS), Foot-Counter, and RFID systems at client sites.
• Maintenance & Support: Perform routine maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of installed systems to ensure proper operation.
• Cabling & Connectivity: Run and terminate network cables, connect devices to local networks and cloud-based systems.
• System Configuration: Set up hardware and software components according to installation guidelines and customer requirements.
• Diagnostics: Identify and repair minor faults in electronic or networked equipment.
• Documentation: Record installation details, service reports, and maintenance activities accurately.
• Customer Assistance: Provide basic technical support and guidance to clients on system usage.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow company safety policies and maintain compliance with installation standards.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Matric
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Electronics or similar will be an advantage

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

• Basic knowledge of electronics and electrical wiring
• Some experience with IP cameras, networks, cabling, security systems, cloud servers and automation equipment preferred
• Comfortable working with network connections and 240VAC power
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Using a PC, Mobile phone or Laptop to configure electronic equipment)
• Work with Power Tools (Power Drills, etc.)
• Driver's License
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical, software and network data
• Good time‑management skills
• Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment
• Basic programming skills will be an advantage
