Our client is a global leader in reliable networking devices and accessories, and an international distributor is currently looking for a Technical Trainer for their Midrand office.

The Technical Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering dynamic, high-quality training programs that empower staff, resellers, and partners with the knowledge and confidence to promote, install, and support full range of products.

This role bridges technical expertise with communication excellence – ensuring that product training is both practical and aligned with global standards.

The Technical Trainer will also support pre‑sales activities through solution design, product demonstrations, and technical consultation.

Required Qualification, Skills, and Experience
  • National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related technical field.
  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) or equivalent industrial design / training certification beneficial.
  • Vendor‑specific certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Ubiquiti, TP‑Link, Hikvision, or MikroTik) will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experienced in developing digital learning content or using Learning Management Systems (LMS) is beneficial.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar technical training or technical support role.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (VLANs, routing, Wi‑Fi standards, IP addressing, PoE, ACLs, etc).
  • Hands‑on experience with networking equipment, CCTV systems, and wireless networks.
  • Solid knowledge of market‑related networking and surveillance products.
  • Proven ability to develop, adapt, and deliver training material for varied audiences (technical and non‑technical).
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical ability, with an aptitude for explaining complex technical concepts clearly; competency in using presentation tools and learning platforms (PowerPoint, LMS, e‑learning systems, etc.).
  • Relevant vendor certifications advantageous (e.g., Cisco CCNA, Ubiquiti, Hikvision, MikroTik, or TP‑Link certifications).
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver training sessions for staff, resellers, and customers in‑person and online.
  • Design and develop customized training programs tailored to each partner's business model, technical capability, and market needs, aligned with Global Certification standards.
  • Create, maintain, and update training materials, resources, and assessments across all delivery platforms.
  • Collaborate with sales and technical teams to provide pre‑sales support, product demonstrations, and solution design input.
  • Assist in preparing technical proposals, network diagrams, and proof‑of‑concept setups.
  • Design and recommend end‑to‑end networking and surveillance solutions using products.
  • Stay current with industry trends, product updates, and competitor offerings.
  • Provide feedback to product and sales teams to enhance training relevance and effectiveness.
  • Produce training performance reports and contribute to the continuous improvement of training strategy.
