HR Manager MEA at Manitou Southern Africa (Pty) Ltd

General Accountability

With a direct report to the Aftersales Manager, this position is responsible for technical training to all dealers and customers in Africa. The primary focus is to provide accurate and quality technical training of the highest standards.

Subject to the training received by the OEM.

To do this, the role will include traveling locally and abroad, subject to availability and personal safety standards being met.

To provide technical training from novice to intermediate levels.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and provide face‑to‑face technical training (on‑site and off‑site) as per OEM guidelines.
  • Prepare and provide digital technical training as per OEM guidelines.
  • Train the trainer operating training – maintenance and operation of the machines / Specific to the OEM operators' manuals only, where capable and possible.
  • Provide basic machine software training on the current software for machines.
  • Proofreading and editing technical documentation.
  • Adapt technical documentation to local standards, use cases and accepted norms where necessary.
  • Research and development of technical training.
  • Develop new Manitou training material as required.
  • Liaise and communicate with the product support team for potential training areas and training suggestions.
  • Create, develop, and research current and new information.
  • On receiving OEM training, create training presentations for each module.
  • Translate, adapt and improve information as received from MBF, MBI, and Alfresco if capable and possible.
  • Liaise and cooperate with international trainers.
  • Keep abreast of technological innovations and use of AI to aid in training sessions.
  • Assist with technical support.
  • Proofread and edit OEM technical documentation, including repair manuals, drawings and schematics information to compensate for loss in translation, incomplete information and local requirements.
  • When necessary, participate in resolving ASSIST tickets.
  • Prearranged – Install and reinstall the software on PAD and OPEN PAD operating systems.
Education

Qualified trade‑tested, red seal auto electrician/diesel mechanic. Facilitator, assessor or moderator training/certificate is highly advantageous. CAD course/training is highly advantageous.

Experience Overview
  • 5 years minimum as a Technician.
  • Experience as a technical trainer/facilitator (advantageous).
  • Manitou equipment experience or knowledge (advantageous).
  • Trackless Mobile Machinery experience (advantageous).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings including hydraulic/electric schematics and piping diagrams.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic diagnostic tools and equipment.
Attentiveness and Skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Gmail, and basic computer skills.
  • Deep understanding of systems and processes, combining critical thinking with industry expertise.
Internal / External Connections

Internal interactions: Work in partnership with almost all departments of the Headquarters to ensure close alignment. External interactions: Represents the company as appropriate in its relationships with Customers and Dealers.

Location and Expected Travel

Location: This position is based in Proton Industrial Park, South Africa. Expected Travel: This position requires travelling inside the borders of the RSA, throughout the African continent, and abroad, subject to availability and personal safety standards being met.
