Job description

The Role:

To provide advanced technical expertise in the mechanical and electrical assembly, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting of mining loaders used in hard rock and soft rock mining operations. The Technical Specialist ensures that all machines are built to specification, tested for performance and safety, and optimized for reliability in demanding mining environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure sub-assemblies and assembly of mechanical and electrical components on machines are done according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
  • Perform functional and performance testing of completed machines.
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and ensure all systems operate within defined parameters.
  • Document test results and corrective actions taken.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults during and after assembly.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify root causes of issues.
  • Support workshop and field service teams with technical problem-solving when required.
  • Liaise with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to resolve technical challenges.
  • Provide feedback on design and assembly processes for continuous improvement.
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and artisans.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, issues encountered, and solutions implemented.
Your Profile
  • Technical Qualification with Millwright Trade
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control systems (LHDs).
  • Experience with CANbus system for Loaders
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining/construction environment
Notice Period

Notice period on all positions is 20 working days from date of resignation, unless otherwise agreed to by managers.
