Technical Sales Representative (Mining, Industrial) - Johannesburg Based

Purpose of the function: To market and sell industrial valve products and solutions to mining and other heavy industry sectors within Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo region.

The role requires deep technical understanding of industrial valve applications, compliance with industry standards, and the ability to deliver tailored solutions that optimally enhance operational efficiency and safety.

The representative is responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining key industrial client relationships, providing technical training and supporting after-sales service to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Qualifications

Duties
  • Customer liaison and service – grow the client base
  • Ensuring CRM is always updated on all aspects
  • Assisting with quotations and tenders (clean quotations)
  • Following up on outstanding quotations and tenders
  • Liaising with QC/QA department on special requests and specifications
  • Following up on back orders and deliveries
  • Meeting monthly sales/GP targets
  • Technical product promotion to end users
  • Negotiating on sales and orders – achieve monthly sales and GP targets
  • Gathering and analyzing market intelligence
  • Grow and ensure up-to-date technical product & application knowledge
  • Constantly implementing various tasks to increase quotation / order conversion rate
  • Know and understand specifications indicated on RFQ's applicable to the products offered
  • Awareness of specification changes and/or updates at end users
  • Assess and advise on the impact and implications of the various specifications
  • Training on specifications to relay information and impact of non-compliance
