Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Market Prospecting
- Proactively identify and qualify sales leads through cold calling, networking, referrals, and inbound inquiries.
- Research key markets and customer segments to uncover business opportunities.
2. Sales Engagement & Negotiation
- Present products or services to potential customers, highlighting benefits and value propositions.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and close sales agreements in line with company policies.
3. Customer & Distributor Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to foster repeat business and upsell additional products of services. This pertains to direct and customers and distributor channel.
- Respond to customer inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and urgency.
4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Exceed and meet sales targets and KPIs as set by management.
- Develop and manage sales forecasts and pipelines.
5. Product Expertise & Industry Knowledge
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the companyâs products or services and stay informed about industry trends.
- Provide technical expertise to customers and address their questions.
6. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with marketing, aftermarket service, and technical teams to align on sales strategy.
- Participate in internal meetings and training initiatives to stay aligned with business goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Requirements :
- Matric.
- Proven track record in B2B sales.
- Strong understanding of the South African industrial, compressor markets and / or technical markets.
Preferred :
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Core Competencies :
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Time management and organisational discipline.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Desirable :
- Technical knowledge of compressor systems or related industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Multilingual abilities or additional technical certifications.
