Job description
Responsibilities

Strategically manage and grow a defined customer portfolio across your allocated territory, with a focus on delivering waterproof and general construction solutions.

Apply technical selling techniques to position Saint-Gobain products with engineers, architects, contractors, and procurement specialists.

Interpret technical specifications, construction drawings, and site requirements in order to recommend appropriate product solutions.

Drive product specification, application support, and post‑sales service through on‑site demonstrations, technical training, and contractor engagement.

Ensure accurate sales forecasting and territory performance tracking using data‑driven insights and reporting tools.

Uphold pricing discipline and manage profitability in alignment with company strategy.

Support cross‑functional collaboration with Supply Chain, Technical Support, and Credit Control to ensure seamless execution and customer satisfaction.

Strengthen the sales pipeline and reduce operational pressure on Inland coverage through strong customer acquisition and technical consultation in TMC and infrastructure segments.

Serve as a potential succession plan for territory leadership, with the capability to step into broader responsibilities over time.

Bring domain expertise in construction chemicals or civil engineering with hands‑on field experience to engage technically with stakeholders in infrastructure and heavy construction projects.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Technical Sales or site management within the construction industry, particularly waterproofing, concrete works, and construction sealants.

Matric certificate essential, with a relevant qualification in Engineering, Construction or Technical relevancy.

Ability to analyze data and communicate effectively with a diverse customer base.

A valid driver’s license.

Proficiency in SAP and MS Office.

Preference for individuals from a construction chemical or civil background.

Additional Information

This role forms part of the a.b.e – Weber Sales Team and reports to the Sales Manager.

The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing a dedicated territory and customer portfolio.

You will develop and execute tailored sales strategies, respond to market changes, and ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures.

As a Technical Sales Consultant, you’ll act as the primary link between the customer and our business, helping to resolve queries, manage credit and stock concerns, and represent our products with integrity and professionalism.

Success will be measured through revenue growth, territory development, and customer satisfaction.
